Benny's Pantry Receives Statewide Recognition

Benny's Pantry was recently honored with the "Strength of Partner Agency Network" award at the annual Idaho Foodbank Partner Conference, recognizing the pantry's commitment to serving the campus community with dignity, care, and connection. The award highlights the work of the Benny's Pantry staff and volunteers, whose efforts have helped transform the pantry into more than just a food resource for students, staff, and faculty.

Here is what Maren Nelson, Community Partner Coordinator for the Idaho Food Bank, had to say about the Pantry: "You can run a pantry and move food. That's easy enough. What's harder is building something people actually feel connected to when they walk through the door. And that's what the whole team has done here. Benny's Pantry is more than a resource on campus. It's a place where people are met with dignity, where community quietly forms, and where care shows up in really practical ways. And that makes it something worth recognizing."
