Winter Commencement 2026 to be held in Reed Gym due to Construction

Due to construction on the floor of the ICCU Dome, Winter 2026 Commencement will be held in Reed Gym. Because Reed Gym has a smaller capacity, we will hold two identical commencement ceremonies, with graduates divided by college, following a format similar to Spring Commencement.

We understand how important it is for graduates to have their family and friends there to celebrate with them. By holding two ceremonies, we are able to provide up to 12 guest tickets per graduate, rather than limiting graduates to six tickets if we held a single ceremony. We hope this allows more of the people who have supported our graduates throughout their journey to be there in person.

For family and friends who are unable to attend in person, both ceremonies will also be streamed live on ISU’s YouTube channel, allowing them to be part of the celebration from wherever they are.

If participating in commencement in the ICCU Dome is especially important to you, you also have the option to postpone your commencement ceremony until Spring 2027, when we anticipate returning to the Dome. Please email commencement@isu.edu if you wish to do this.

We want you to know that every commencement ceremony is important to us, whether it takes place in winter or spring. Our goal is to create a meaningful celebration that honors your accomplishments and gives you the opportunity to share this special milestone with the people who matter most.
