Idaho State University Welcomes State Board of Education

Idaho State University welcomed the Idaho State Board of Education to the Pocatello campus on August 12 and 13, offering board members an opportunity to learn about the university’s recent progress and engage directly with students, faculty, and staff.

During the meeting, President Wagner presented his annual report, highlighting ISU’s major accomplishments and introducing the Contract for Idaho—the university's initiative demonstrating its value and statewide impact. 

Throughout the visit, students, faculty, and staff participated in panel discussions with board members to share their experiences and answer questions about campus life and work. Additionally, board members hosted informational sessions covering research initiatives, athletics, advancement, health sciences education, and faculty work.

Key outcomes from the meeting included approval of ISU’s request to enter into a Pre-Development Agreement with Radnor Property Group for new student housing on the Pocatello campus. The event also highlighted the College of Eastern Idaho and the College of Southern Idaho as they shared updates on their important work and contributions to higher education across the region. ISU is proud to partner with these institutions to expand educational opportunities and strengthen pathways for students.

In addition, ISU hosted a reception at the Stephens Performing Arts Center for board members, State Board office staff, and representatives from institutions across Idaho's higher education system, giving many guests their first opportunity to tour the venue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Governor Brad Little and Senator Jim Risch honored outgoing board members Bill Gilbert and Cindy Siddoway, an ISU alumna, for their dedicated service to Idaho higher education. ISU looks forward to maintaining its strong partnership with the State Board as new members are appointed, including upcoming representatives from Eastern and Southeastern Idaho.
