Every Bengal Makes a Difference
October 26, 2026
Every year, thousands of prospective students, families and returning Bengals step onto our campuses. We warmly welcome each of them and help them answer a question fundamental to college success: “Do I belong here?” While students may begin looking at ISU for academic programs, they quickly find they are looking for more than classrooms and lab spaces. They choose ISU because they feel comfortable, supported and welcomed. As students move from “Can I do this?" to “I can see myself at ISU”, it’s clear they stay because of the strength of our community.
The answer to that question comes from all of us as we help them find their way - around campus, through the financial aid process, on the journey of discovering a major that sparks a passion, and many other paths students take on their way to becoming Idaho State University graduates. Even simple gestures can make a meaningful impression, like walking someone to an unfamiliar building, offering encouragement during a challenging time, or sharing a friendly “hello” that turns a quick visit into a lasting connection.
Time and again, students tell us that our people make the difference, confirming that you are why they found their place at ISU. You do this by:
- Showing up. Participating in campus tours, campus visit days, open houses, and student success events shows students we are here for them. Your presence shows that welcoming future Bengals is a shared commitment.
- Actively engaging with campus visitors. Offering kind greetings, inviting questions, and guiding them toward answers that fit their needs creates connection. Every interaction is a chance to share why you love to teach, research, advise, and support students.Students want to hear from you.
- Welcoming new Bengals. Creating an environment where every student feels right at home across all ISU’s campuses.
The recruitment season for the 2027 academic year is underway and we invite you to continue doing what you naturally do so well and help us welcome the next generation of Bengals. Here are three easy steps you can take to build on the work you already do to help prospective students find their place at ISU.
- Visit our new recruitment support website, your go-to page for everything you'll need to stay involved.
- Sign up for our upcoming recruitment events and opt-in for individual campus visit support; links will be found on the recruitment support page.
- Represent proudly with a new button pin designed to invite questions from campus visitors, which you’ll receive in the next few weeks. Students will see we are here to help them on their way to becoming a Bengal.
Thank you for all you do to make ISU the university where students find their place and their community.
