Explore Campus with the New Bengal Walking Map
April 16, 2025
Recreation and Wellness is making it easier than ever to stay active and connected with the launch of the Healthy Bengal Walking Map, a new resource promoting physical activity, mental well-being, and a stronger sense of campus community. Developed with support from ISU’s GIS Training and Research Center, the map features a variety of walking paths across ISU’s Pocatello campus—ranging in length, location, and accessibility to suit different schedules and abilities. The map is available to view at isu.edu/wellness
From April 21–25, the Healthy Bengal Walking Map Initiative invites students, faculty, and staff to get moving and explore campus. Whether you have just five minutes between classes or want to enjoy a longer stroll, there’s a route to match your day.
To keep things fun and engaging, the initiative will feature Instagram Reels on @bewellbengals, including walkthroughs of the paths and tips on building walking into your routine. Printed maps will also be posted in high-traffic areas like the Rendezvous Center, Student Union Building (SUB), Reed Gym, and Housing, making it easy to find a route.
Why walking?
Even a short daily walk can boost your mood, sharpen focus, and increase energy. As finals approach, taking a few minutes to move can be a great way to reset and recharge.
Whether you're looking for a quick break, a moment outdoors, or a new way to explore campus, the Healthy Bengal Walking Map is a simple and effective tool to help you stay well. Grab a friend—or take some solo time—and hit the paths April 21–25.
