Public Safety Training Opportunities

The Department of Public Safety will offer several training opportunities for staff and faculty this fall. Individuals who would like to attend should sign up for courses using the training sign-up sheet. A calendar invite with all the information will be provided. 

Campus Emergencies 101

This is a basic course designed for anyone who is interested in learning about how Idaho State University manages critical incidents. Participants will learn about decision-making processes for critical incidents and campus closure, ISU's critical incident response capabilities, and campus emergency communications. 

  • Session 1: Friday, October 10, 9-10 a.m. (Virtual)
  • Session 2: Tuesday, October 14, 11 a.m.-Noon (Virtual)
  • Session 3: Friday, November 7, 1pm-2 p.m. (Virtual)
  • Session 4: Wednesday, November 12, 10-11 a.m. (In person -Pocatello Campus)

Active Shooter

Through this training, you will learn what it means to "Run - Hide - Fight". You will be provided with guidance and proven strategies for surviving and the tools to begin pre-planning for a worst-case scenario.  

  • Session 1: Wednesday, October 8, 9-10 a.m. (in person - Pocatello Campus)
  • Session 2: Wednesday, October 8, 10-11 a.m. (in person - Pocatello Campus)
  • Session 3: Thursday, October 30, 9-10 a.m. (Virtual)
  • Session 4: Wednesday, November 5, 10-11 a.m. (Virtual)
  • Session 5: Wednesday, November 12, 9-10 a.m. (in person - Pocatello)
