Over $1,000 Raised in Annual United Way / ISU Halloween Bowling Tournament
November 6, 2025
Halloween can be scary - but mostly it is an opportunity to get together and have some fun. This Halloween was no exception, and showcased the last event in the 2025 ISU United Way Workplace Giving Campaign.
This fundraising bowling tournament attracted over 70 contestants in 18 teams from 15 departments across campus.
With skill levels ranging from "need to use bumpers" to "expert" it was a lighthearted contest, full of laughs and some amazingly themed costumes. Special mention goes to Fruit of the Lane, the tourists from the Graduate School and the entire Office of the Registrar!
The Game Center was busy for three hours as the teams each played one game. The scoring was the total team score/number of players to give an average score per team.
Competition was hot in the race to the top (and bottom)! The winners this year for the Bowling Pin Trophy goes to Bengal Buck$ from Financial Aid and Scholarships. They had a (by no means) average score of 133.5.
And the Golf Award for the lowest score goes to the team from the Office of Research Development.
The top bowler of the whole event clocked in at 166 - congratulations to Jason Russell from General Counsel.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who participated, raising more than $1,000 to benefit the programs that United Way supports. These programs help our friends, neighbors and families locally in areas of health, education and financial stability.
