Institute of Rural Health Offers Free Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

Idaho State University's Institute of Rural Health Gem State Public Health AmeriCorps program is providing an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) December 3 and 4 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at The Village in Pocatello (345 N 5th Ave.). Training is free for all participants. Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of suicide, how to provide an intervention and how to develop a safety plan. Upon completing all 16 hours of training, participants will become certified interventionists. Registration is available online
