Public Safety Seeks Volunteers for Life Safety Liaisons

July 20, 2023

Public Safety is looking for Life Safety Liaisons to help facilitate building evacuations. We are looking for staff and faculty members across all campuses who have a passion for safety and willingness to participate and learn more about how to handle emergency situations at ISU. If you are currently serving in a similar role for ISU, we encourage you to also complete the form below so we ensure we have the most up-to-date information.

We need individuals who:

  • Embrace a culture of safety;
  • Are familiar with (or willing to learn) about hazards in your building;
  • Can assist Facilities Services and Public Safety practice evacuation drills; and
  • Are willing to provide leadership during campus emergencies for their building.

What you need to know:

  1. Public Safety will be doing building evacuations from August 28 through September 8, the evacuation schedule will be posted on our website in the coming weeks.
  2. Become familiar with the ISU Emergency Action Plan and take a look at the information we have on our website for your building’s evacuation plan
  3. Interested individuals will be invited to attend a Life Safety Leadership Training to help prepare you for your role.

If you are interested in providing life safety help please fill out this short Google Form so that we have your contact information. We appreciate you taking the time to consider this. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at (208) 282-2515, or by emailing emergencymanagement@isu.edu.
