New College of Technology Dean Announced

Gerald (Jerry) Anhorn has been appointed Dean of the College of Technology.

Anhorn, who is currently serving as Dean of Workforce Transfer and Trades at Walla Walla Community College, brings a wealth of experience to this role. He will begin his new role at Idaho State University in August.

Prior to serving in his current role at Walla Walla Community College (WWCC), Anhorn served as Director of the Water and Environmental Center and Instructor of Water Management, Irrigation and Civil Engineering.

Anhorn earned his M.S  in agriculture science and B.S. in agricultural mechanization from Washington State University, and an AAS in irrigation technology from Walla Walla Community College. After graduating from Walla Walla Community College, he was employed in Bellevue Washington for a landscape architectural firm specializing in large commercial, sports field, and golf course design/development. He was also owner/operator of a design/build landscape and irrigation construction firm. Anhorn has been actively engaged in the agriculture industry focusing mainly on soil and water conservation projects in association with fish and riparian restoration. His wife Nancy is a middle school math teacher and they have three grown children, Josie (25), Luke (23), and Nate (21). In his spare time, Anhorn enjoys restoring old 4 x 4 vehicles, hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.
