Idaho State University's Department of Theatre Wins 5 National Awards for its Production of "Marisol"

Idaho State University's Theatre Department won five awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) for its production of "Marisol."  

The KCACTF is a national theater program that recognizes and celebrates the achievements of college and university theater departments across the country. Idaho State University's Theatre Department was one of only nine schools in the region to be recognized by the KCACTF for its outstanding production of "Marisol."

The awards received by Idaho State University's Theatre Department for its production of "Marisol" at the KCACTF include:

  • The Citizen Artist Award
  • Distinguished Achievement in Facilitation of a Brave Rehearsal Space
  • Distinguished Achievement in Production Design
  • Distinguished Achievement in Scenic Design - Michelle Ludlow and Claire Chrzan
  • Distinguished Achievement in Stage Management - Harmoni Thompson, Alyssa Higley, and Staci Allen

"We are so grateful and humbled to receive such spectacular recognition for 'Marisol'!" says Stefan Espinosa, Director of “Marisol.” "It was certainly a challenging show for all of us, and at a challenging time for our department, but everyone put their heart and soul unflinchingly into their work - and it is incredibly affirming to see that work recognized at the national level."
