Run to the Light Band Concert on Nov. 15

The Idaho State University Symphonic Band and Civic Bands will present their second fall concert of the semester in Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the Stephens Performing Arts Center, Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.  

The symphonic band’s concert’s theme is “Run to the Light”, named after a newer work on the program by Ivan Trevino. Run to the Light will feature Idaho State percussion professor, Dr. Thom Hasenpflug, and 2022 ISU percussion performance graduate, Mr. Jake Knievel. The program will also include a new arrangement of Just a Closer Walk With Thee by Drew Dickey, featuring Idaho State’s newest music faculty member, Dr. Jenna McLean, assistant professor of commercial music/applied voice. 

The rest of the program will include music by Eric Whitacre, Hirokazu Fukushima, Cait Nishimura, Julius Fučík. The ISU Civic Band will also be performing Imaginarium by Randall Standridge, an Idaho Premiere and ISU Commissioned work Life Unto the Age by Haley Woodrow, and an Idaho Premiere of Exuberant Spirits composed by our own ISU Instructor of Music Dr. Bill Montgomery. You most certainly don’t want to miss this program! 

ISU Music Department concert admission prices are as follows: Adults - $8, ISU Faculty & Staff - $6, Precollege students - $4. and ISU students – FREE (with valid Bengal ID).
