Student group earns top state fundraiser for the "2021 Walk For Apraxia"

February 17, 2022

The ISU National Student Speech Language Hearing Association chapter (NSSLHA) was named the top fundraiser in the state for the 2021 Walk For Apraxia. Through fundraising efforts via social media, the students earned nearly $800 in just four weeks.

In late December 2021, team members across three states completed a walk to raise money and awareness for apraxia, a disorder that affects speech. ISU's chapter was one of 49 participating NSSLHA groups who participated in the nationwide event, sponsored by "Apraxia Kids," that raised more than half of a million dollars in funds for the cause.
