Master of Arts in History Program Ranked #4 by Online Master's Degrees

March 10, 2022

Onlinemastersdegree.org (OMD) has recently released its 2022 college rankings, and Idaho State University has been named one of the year's best schools for earning an online master's degree in history.

Ranked at #4, ISU's MA in History is the highest-ranked program in the West on OMD's list. The MA in History at ISU is the only online MA program in History in the state of Idaho. Students can complete their degree either online or in-person. The program serves students interested in careers in public service, academia, and education, among other fields. Increasingly, the program has become popular among high school teachers, who find the MA in History's flexibility in course offerings and degree pathways, affordability, and dedicated faculty to be highlights of the ISU program.

OMD analyzed more than 7,700 schools using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Their data science team then created an algorithm to rank these schools in 70 unique master's degree subjects. To qualify, a school must hold active regional accreditation and have both academic counseling and career placement services available to students. Primary ranking factors included availability of programs with an online component, number of programs in subject area, and metrics considering cost as well as the impact of institutional aid.
