June 10, 2022

The Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management welcomes our new Registrar, Dr. Hala Abou Arraj, to Idaho State University.

Abou Arraj earned her Ph.D. in political studies from the Lebanese University, and her Master’s and Bachelor's degrees in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut. She has worked for 17 years in the registrar’s office at the American University of Beirut in multiple roles, including serving as interim registrar and associate registrar and has experience in producing catalogs, registration, managing the university’s academic calendar, and working closely with faculty on academic matters.

Abou Arraj has written a book chapter with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers AACRAO and has published in academic journals. She also has extensive consulting and teaching experience.

"I am so excited to be here and looking forward to working with all the awesome community members at ISU. I plan to channel the experience acquired in my previous work and studies to enhance increasingly the effectiveness and efficiency of services and operations in the office, to endorse technological improvements that will assist students, faculty and staff in enhancing student achievements, to promote customer service and to invest more in staff development,” she said.
