Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability Update

September 19, 2022

Due to the University’s focus on sustainability, the Division of Campus Operations is excited to provide an update regarding environmental sustainability initiatives for the campus community.

Idaho State University will be launching a nationwide search for an Environmental Sustainability Program Manager this fall. We anticipate launching the search by late September, with the goal to have a successful candidate beginning work by approximately January 2023. Upon arrival, this new position will be leading the initial assessments of the university’s current carbon footprint and collaborating with the campus community in the development of a comprehensive sustainability plan for Idaho State University.

We are excited to have this new position join our team of professionals in the expanded office of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS), reporting to our Executive Director of EHSS, Jennifer Parrott. EHSS, and the entire Campus Operations team look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students on sustainability planning and initiatives over the coming months and years. A critical element of setting achievable sustainability goals will be the support and partnership of the entire campus community as we strive towards becoming a carbon neutral institution in the future.

Thank you!

Brian Sagendorf

Interim VP, Campus Operations
