Dr. Arunima Datta Wins Book Award

Dr. Arunima Datta won the North American British Studies Stansky Book Award for her book Fleeting Agencies: A Social History of Indian Coolie Women in British Malaya (published by Cambridge University Press). This award is awarded annually for the best book published on any aspect of British studies since 1800. The NACBS Stansky award is the third award that Dr. Datta has received for her book. Previously her book has won the National Women's Studies Association Whaley Award and the Western Association of Women Historians Chaudhuri Award.
