Can the Vandals and Tackle Hunger Nov. 14- 19

November 10, 2022

Next week is rivalry week – and it’s time to Beat Idaho and Tackle Hunger! The fourth annual Can the Vandals Food Fight is where Idaho State takes on the University of Idaho not only on the field but also in raising the most non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Idaho Foodbank.

For the past five seasons, ever since UI rejoined the Big Sky Conference, our Can the Vandals Food Fight to support the Idaho Foodbank has united students, faculty, staff, alumni and the whole Bengal community to tackle hunger and food insecurity in our state by challenging UI to a competition collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for those in need.

Starting Monday, Nov. 14, until kickoff at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, non-perishable food items can be donated at any of the collection barrels on our campuses, around the state or at any of the Idaho Foodbank locations. When you drop off your donations at a foodbank location, let them know you’re on Team ISU. You can also join the effort by making monetary donations using the Idaho Foodbank webpage.

Each dollar donated can provide four meals for a community member experiencing food insecurity. This good-natured competition makes an impact that reaches far beyond Pocatello and Moscow – so let’s get going!

Bengal Nation, help us Beat Idaho and Tackle Hunger. Let’s Can the Vandals in the food fight competition starting Monday and then again on the field on Nov. 19! For more information and to participate, visit https://idahofoodbank.org/food-fight/
