2023-2024 Honors Seminars - Call for Proposals

November 28, 2022

The University Honors Advisory Committee is seeking course proposals for HONS 3391, Honors Seminar, for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Dear Colleagues,

The University Honors Advisory Committee is seeking course proposals for HONS 3391, Honors Seminar, for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Proposals only need to be about a paragraph in length and should cover engaging content outside the scope of existing courses offered at Idaho State University. The committee is particularly interested in courses that span disciplinary boundaries and encourage faculty to consider co-teaching with someone from outside of their department or college. An Honors Seminar is a 1-credit course offered in an 8-week block and cannot have prerequisites.  Because this course is outside of regular faculty contract commitments, it qualifies for a one-credit (paid) overload teaching contract.

Interested faculty members may submit their course proposals at https://forms.gle/RNZqABZ3sEjXvzPU8. Proposals are due December 16, 2022. If you have questions regarding the proposal or the proposal process, please contact Shannon Kobs Nawotniak, University Honors Program Director, at shannonkobs@isu.edu.

 Thank you!
