Tenor Tislam Swift to Perform Free Virtual Concert

Tenor Tislam Swift, a multi-genre artist, presents a vocal concert spanning art songs, opera, musical theatre, spiritual, R&B & Jazz March 19 from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. This event is sponsored by the Cultural Events Committee and is free and open to the public. 

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Swift has performed on a wide array of concert stages, theaters and opera houses. Swift has been a World-Premier Artist with the Negro Spiritual Scholarship Foundation. He is very passionate about bringing music to the community and was recently a featured artist in the City of Bloomington’s annual Black Y Brown arts festival, highlighting art songs and spirituals by Black composers. Swift earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Morehouse College and a Master of Music from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he is currently a Doctoral student under the tutelage of Tenor Russell Thomas. Tislam is currently an Associate Instructor of the African-American Choral Ensemble at Indiana University under the Direction of Dr. Raymond Wise.
