Music student Mallory Layne took top honors at the Idaho Federation of Music Clubs collegiate awards event last month.
She earned a $300 brass division scholarship for her first-place performance, then progressed to a competition between all division winners.
Layne, also a College of Arts and Letters scholarship recipient, was named the top collegiate performer. The recognition comes with a $1,000 award.
The Idaho Federation of Music Clubs is a philanthropic and educational organization aimed at supporting young performers and promoting music education. It hosts its Collegiate Award auditions each year.
