Calling all Interested Artists

The Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is proposing a mural be completed celebrating our Century of Service since the program first began in Idaho in 1920.

Our Vision: An Idaho where all individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to participate in the workforce and employer value their contributions.

Our Mission: To prepare individuals with disabilities for employment and career opportunities while meeting the needs of the employers.

We are requesting interested parties to send in concept and bids for a mural to be completed in the Capital Mall tunnels in downtown Boise, Idaho.

Mural Requirements:

Represents the vision, mission, and service of the vocational rehabilitation programs to the citizens of Idaho. The VR Program logos in the heading of this flyer should be either beside or incorporated into the mural.

Must not include commercial interests and must be politically neutral.

The work can be approximately 7 feet high and 12 feet wide, or less, and a least 4 inches above the floor and 4 inches below the ceiling.

The paint must be water based only. All paint and equipment must be stored when not in use and the floor must be protected while painting is in process.

The work becomes state property when completed.

Submissions

Please submit a sample of the proposed work, along with the size. Include bid for completing the work. Please also include samples of previous work.

All submissions must be received by Friday, March 13, 2020

The mural will be awarded to the artist chosen by Friday, March 20, 2020

Completion

The artist has from March 20, 2020 until May 29, 2020 to complete the mural in time for our Century of Service Celebration on June 2, 2020 when the artwork will be unveiled. Work can be done after hours and on weekends if necessary.
