Cory Bennett chosen to serve on national committee

September 10, 2020

Dr. Cory Bennett, Professor in the College of Education's Teaching and Educational Studies Department, was selected by The Educational Testing Service (ETS) to serve on both the Praxis Elementary Education: Mathematics Specialist Development Advisory Committee (DAC) and the National Advisory Committee (NAC).

As a Development Advisory Committee member, Dr. Bennett will help review and revise statements on the knowledge and skills a beginning mathematics specialist needs to have in order to be safe and effective in the role. The National Advisory Committee is a key component in the ETS test development process for all Praxis test series for teacher certification. Committee members are selected based on experience, background, content knowledge, and knowledge of their state and national standards relevant to their licensure area. Dr. Bennett will be serving in this capacity along with 12-14 other licensed practitioners across the nation representing his expertise in mathematics.
