City of Pocatello, ISU seek input on temporary curbing extensions on Fifth Avenue near ISU

The City of Pocatello and ISU are seeking input on the installed temporary curb extensions that were put in place Oct. 6 along Fifth Avenue near ISU using chalk, paint and cones that will be up until approximately Oct. 15.

The curb extensions were put up to test this "traffic calming technique" that is designed to increase the visibility of pedestrians and decrease the distance pedestrians have to travel to get across the street. The City of Pocatello in collaboration with Idaho State University, Idaho Transportation Department, and Vitruvian Planning, gained grant funding for this project.

If the installation is effective the agencies will apply for grant funding to make it permanent. 

The partners in this project are seeking input from ISU faculty, students and staff and are asking that as many people as possible take the following four-question survey:
