FAC code dialing announcement

February 4, 2019

In August, President Satterlee announced a change to long-distance telephone calls at Idaho State University. The change has now been fully implemented across campus to eliminate all Forced Access Codes (FAC) for telephone calls. If you have a long-distance telephone call that furthers the mission of the University, do not think twice before dialing.

All Idaho State campus locations will now use a simple, new 8+ system for off-campus telephone calls. Specific dialing instructions (suitable for clipping and posting by your phone) are contained in the box below.

Please note that long-distance calls have been free for departments since the change was announced in August.

IMPORTANT: The old system (9+#+FAC) will be turned off Feb.11, so anyone trying to dial a number using that system will receive an error tone.

Specific instructions on other dialing situations, such as international calls, can be found in TigerTracks, under 8 Plus Dialing Instructions. If you have any questions, please contact NetCom at x4900.
