Director of Nursing Research and Professor recognized with Excellence in Receiving Extramural Grant Funding Award

 Idaho State University Director of Nursing Research and Professor Mary A. Nies was recognized with the Excellence in Receiving Extramural Grant Funding Award at the Mountain West Clinical Translational Research Infrastructure
Network (CTR-IN) 6 th Annual Meeting held in Las Vegas, Nevada June, 2019. This year’s theme was "Advancing Health Disparities Research in the Mountain West Region."
The award was given to Dr. Nies, who is a recipient of a previous Clinical Translational Research Infrastructure Network pilot grant in 2014 and then went on to receive extramural grant funding. The award was given at the Smith Center for Performing Arts Recognition Ceremony June 10 in Las Vegas, NV.
Nies, Project Director/Principal Investigator, is currently completing a $1.5 million Idaho Senior Refugee Interprofessional Holistic Health Project funded by the Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention Program; 
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
Nies, Project Director/Principal Investigator also started this year a $250,000 project funded by the Eugene Washington Engagement Award; Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). This project is entitled: Using Social Media to Raise Pre-Diabetes Awareness for Rural Idaho Latinos.
