V. Lynette Mitchell is Idaho State University’s new Assistant Vice President for Business Services. Mitchell joined ISU in 2009 as Assistant Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs. She previously led the business officer team that provides fiscal and business operational support to the academic colleges and non-academic administrative units of the institution.

In her new role, Mitchell oversees Parking Services, Transportation Services, Purchasing, and Environmental Health and Safety. Mitchell is a proven leader in finance and administration having previously worked at Northern Illinois University, University of Arkansas, Yale University, Iowa State University, and Saint Augustine’s University. Within her more than 25 year career, she has managed business operations and budget oversight for nearly every unit at an institution, including academic colleges and student affairs. Mitchell is also a current member of NACUBO/WACUBO and has served as a Regional University Accreditor with the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities

“Lynette has a deep understanding of operations and the big picture to how fiscal and strategic management are critical for a unit’s success,” said Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs, Dr. Glen Nelson. “As our division evolves to meet the business needs and objectives of the institution, Lynette’s ability to provide strategic direction will undoubtedly serve these areas well.”
