ISU IEEE Career Exploration Series to be held Oct. 15

October 9, 2019

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE) club will host a Career Exploration Series on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Middle Fork Room. The purpose of this event is to expose students to different career specialties within the electrical engineering field.

ISU graduate and ON Semiconductor Zoma Zaman will talk about her education and work experience in the electrical engineering field, specifically focusing on semiconductor fabrication. After her presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask Zaman questions.

Zaman leads a team of Yield Engineers at ON Semiconductor’s Fab10 manufacturing facility. She analyzes and interprets electrical testing on semiconductor chips. Her job is necessary to find failure points and places for improvement in the manufacturing process

“Zaman is passionate about her work, incredibly smart and has unmatched drive,” said Melissa Coburn, IEEE club vice president. “She is the youngest engineer on the team she manages, and she works tirelessly from morning until evening, often calling in or sending directions to techs in her off time.”

This event is open to the public. Food will be provided.
