ISU College of Business Wells Fargo Speaker Series to feature LDS Business College president

POCATELLO — On Thursday, Nov. 14, Bruce C. Kusch, President of the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah will speak on behalf of the Idaho State University College of Business’s Wells Fargo Speaker Series. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by Kusch’s presentation from 12:20 – 1 p.m. in the Wood River room of the Pond Student Union Building on the Pocatello campus. 

After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and his Master of Business Administration, Kusch earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Design from Idaho State University. Prior to beginning his academic career, Kusch was a sales and marketing executive as well as a management consultant in Silicon Valley, Calif. There, he worked for companies such as IBM, Hitachi America and Logitech. 
 
In 2002, he joined the Brigham Young University- Idaho business management faculty. Six years later, Kusch became BYU-I’s Associate Academic Vice President for Curriculum. In 2015 he was made the Associate Dean for Online Programs. And a year later, Kusch became the Chief Academic Officer at the LDS Business College, assuming the position of the college’s 13th President in April of 2017 where much of his work has focused on course design models and employer relationships, resulting in greater employment opportunities for students. 
 
In 2012, Kusch also received the Kole-McGuffrey Prize from the Idaho State College of Education. This award recognized his research in online learning environments. Last year, he was named the Professional Achievement Award recipient for the Idaho State University Graduate School Doctoral Program. 
 
Thanks to generous contributions made by Wells Fargo, the College of Business Professional Development program is able to host an executive-level speaker each semester as part of the Wells Fargo Speaker Series. These events bring in a large crowd of students from throughout the University as well as community members and ISU faculty and staff, providing tremendous value for students planning their future careers. Kusch is the College’s 11th Wells Fargo Speaker. 
 
The Speaker Series event is open to students, ISU employees and the public.
