ISU Oboler Library Homecoming events include book sale and exhibits

September 13, 2018

POCATELLO – The Eli M. Oboler Library at Idaho State University will hold several events during ISU Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be a book sale, exhibits, and an opportunity to view the current exhibit in Special Collections and Archives, “Business and Pleasure: An exhibit of Historic Pocatello, 1956-1959,” curated by Jeffery Howard and Career Path Intern student, Kelsey Baguley. In addition to this exhibit, there will be an ISU Homecoming exhibit on the first floor, and Special Collections will be open for researchers.

The book sale will take place in the Black Rock Commons area on the first floor of the Library. All proceeds from the book sale will be dedicated to building the library’s collections and will benefit both ISU and community users. There will be all types of books for sale on a wide variety of academic and popular topics, works of popular and literary fiction, and Wickiup yearbooks.

The library evaluates all donated books and identifies those which should be added to its collections. Those that are not destined to become part of the collections are set aside to be sold. The library annually adds between 1,000 and 2,000 volumes to its collections from donated materials.
