ISU Diversity Resource Center to host Diversity Week Oct. 29 – Nov. 2

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Diversity Resource Center will host Diversity Week from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

The weeks activities include:

• Oct. 29, Indigenous Activism – Native American activist and scholar LaNada Warjack will discuss Native American activist and political mobilization from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Rendezvous Complex Suites ABC.

• Oct. 30, Cultural Appropriation or Cultural Appreciation: What is the difference? – The Diversity Resource Center will facilitate a discussion about the tension between these two concepts at 2:30 p.m. in the Diversity Resource Center.

• Oct. 31, Engaging Minority Athletes at Predominantly White Institutions – James Yizar, associate director of student success and the assistant director of athletics, will discuss strategies for increasing success for minority athletes from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Diversity Resource Center. 

• Nov. 1, ISU Unity Summit – Eric Love, director of staff diversity and inclusion at Notre Dame, will facilitate small group discussions about diversity, inclusion and social justice at ISU from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Little Wood River Room.
