Idaho State University Wind Ensemble to go on tour across state

POCATELLO- The Idaho State University Wind Ensemble is currently on tour across Idaho including the College of Southern Idaho, Rocky Mountain High School and Eagle High School. They will finish the tour with a concert at ISU on April 23.

            The 39-piece band is the most advanced concert band on campus, and consists of mainly ISU music majors and minors. Patrick Brooks, ISU director of bands conducts the ensemble.

            They performed at the College of Southern Idaho in Monday April 18th with the CSI Concert band and the Rocky Mountain High Schools Bands in Meridian on April 19th. They will also stop by to perform with the Eagle High School Band and Boise High School Band.         

            The concert at ISU will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Jensen Grant Concert Hall. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for ISU faculty/staff, $4 for precollege students and free for ISU students.

            The Wind Ensemble will be performing five selections: “Chester - Overture for Band” by William Schuman, “Invitation to a Voyage” by Trygve Madsen, “Australian Up-Country Tune” by Percy Grainger, “Königsmarsch” by Richard Strauss and “From a Dark Millennium” by Joseph Schwantner.
