Idaho State University Veteran and Military Appreciation Week set April 20-25

Idaho State University is commemorating Veteran and Military Appreciation Week from April 20 to 25, featuring several events.

On Tuesday, April 21, Veteran and Military Service Awareness Day will be celebrated from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the Hutchinson Quad. Attendees can expect an inflatable obstacle course and other items from the National Guard as well as tables for The Veteran Student Services Center, ROTC, National Guard, Kappa Sigma for Ride for the Troops, military organizations, and American Built.

A puppy-kissing booth and fundraiser for Hero, Idaho State University’s service dog, is set for Wednesday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Quad. There will be a small fenced area for the puppies and students and tables for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Day. Donations are accepted for the fundraiser.

On Thursday, April 23, a ceremony to rededicate the ISU Veteran Memorial is from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cadet Field, with a speaker and flag-raising event at 2 p.m.

Beginning April 20, crosses will be on display in front of ISU’s Administration Building, honoring Idaho service members who have lost their lives. The display will remain until April 25 at noon.
