Idaho State University announces auditions April 3-4 for summer community musical ‘Anything Goes’

Auditions for the Cole Porter Broadway musical “Anything Goes” will be held April 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. and April 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bistline Theatre at the Stephens Performing Arts Center.

Singing and dancing roles are available and the community is encouraged to audition.

Participants should be prepared with a 30-second monologue and a song in English with sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. For dance auditions bring a CD or iPod to accompany a short routine of 30-45 seconds.

The musical opens Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bistline Theatre with encore performances June 13, 15, 18, 19 and 20, all at 7:30 p.m.

“Anything Goes” is a musical comedy set on an ocean liner traveling from New York to London. Two unlikely couples strive for true love amidst much humor and antics. Described as, “musical-comedy joy,” by The New York Times, the musical is appropriate for the entire family.
