The award will cover full tuition, fees, school-related costs and a monthly stipend at Vanderbilt University in Nashville where Gianotto is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing to be a family nurse practitioner.

In return, Gianotto will work for two years as a family nurse practitioner in primary care in a medically underserved area determined by the NHSC. She is scheduled to graduate from Vanderbilt next summer.

“My experiences at Idaho State University School of Nursing provided a foundation for a career in health care and patient service. ISU served as the doorway to a variety of opportunities such as clinical experiences in rural Salmon, Idaho and health-care volunteerism in Peru and Malaysia,” she said.

Gianotto is a graduate of Idaho Falls High School.
