Idaho State University percussion ensemble “Percussion and Steel” to perform Nov. 19

POCATELLO — The Idaho State University percussion ensemble, “Percussion and Steel,” will hold a concert Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Goranson Hall in the Fine Arts Building.

The ensemble is led by School of Performing Arts Director Thom Hasenpflug. “Percussion and Steel” will be perform the songs “Dragoon,” by Lynn Glassock, “Some Uptown HipHop,” by Arthur Lipner and “Summer Mood,” by John Dutton.

The concert will also feature students Kylle Strunk and Jake Knievel in a marimba duo titled, “Catching Shadows,” written by Ivan Trevino. They will play a steel drum piece titled, “Red, Red Wine,” by UB40. Strunk will also perform a solo steel drum piece that he wrote titled, “Time’s Like This.”

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
