BIG (Business, Innovation and Growth) competition to host introductory meetings

Have a novel idea for a business enterprise?

Anyone with a great business idea is invited to attend one of two BIG (Business, Innovation and Growth) Competition introductory meetings Dec. 2, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Shoshone Bannock Hotel in Fort Hall and Dec. 3, 5-6 p.m. at the Republic American Grill, 355 River Parkway, in Idaho Falls.

The BIG competition is sponsored by Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho State University, Grow Idaho Falls, the Eastern Idaho Economic Development Council and Riverbend Communications, and is designed to educate students, entrepreneurs and inventors about early-stage financing. Teams pitch their ideas to compete for more than $5,000.

Submissions and registration for the competition is due Jan. 9, and there are three categories to choose from — Collegiate, High School, Community and Diversity.
