The Idaho State University Office of Marketing and Communications distributes this event calendar to let the public and media know about upcoming non-athletic events at the University. This information is intended for release in print and broadcast events calendars. Various events calendars with more complete information are available online at the website www.isu.edu/calendar.

Saturday and Sunday, August 24-25

Pocatello Film Society to Present: "The Sapphires" film: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Bengal Theatre inside the Pond Student Union building. Based on a true story, four musical Australian Aboriginal girls meet up with a manager who takes them to Vietnam to entertain battle-weary soldiers. Rolling Stone Magazine calls the movie, "A blast of joy and music that struts right into your heart." (Rated PG-13) Admission is $2 for the public, $1 for ISU Staff, and free for ISU Students with Bengal ID. More information at www.pocatellofilmsociety.com.

First day of classes/Fall Classes Begin

Welcome Back Orange and Black: 4-7 p.m. in Old Town Pocatello. The community will welcome ISU students back to town with great food, entertainment, fun-filled games, giveaways, and terrific prize drawings in Old Town Pocatello. Friday, August 30

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) to Host Community Yard Sale: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on the Hutchison Quadrangle. Pocatello community members, ISU students, clubs, faculty and staff are all invited to the SWE Swap. Participation helps SWE continue to develop as a constructive group of young pre-professionals striving to better the community through engineering and leadership skills.
