The live broadcast of a public radio variety show scheduled for July 27 at Idaho State University has been cancelled so Southeast Idahoans can continue to focus on Charlotte Fire recovery efforts.

Michael Feldman, the host of "Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know,” produced weekly by Wisconsin Public Radio, announced the cancellation yesterday, July12.

"Our hearts go out to all of you in east Idaho dealing with the recent fires and recovery. We were planning to do our show in Pocatello on July 27, but we’ve decided to cancel our show to stay out of the way of the Charlotte Fire cleanup and the recovery work," Feldman said.

"Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know" airs every Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. on KISU-FM.

KISU general manager Jerry Miller says the decision is disappointing, but there are just some things that are out of your control, "We've been in regular contact with the show’s producers ever since the fire on June 28, and they decided this week that clean-up and recovery efforts should be getting people's attention, rather than asking people to spend their time and money on an event that can be rescheduled at a later date."

Miller says "Whad'Ya Know" producers tried to find a date this November when the show could be rescheduled, but prior obligations mean the program will likely have to wait until sometime during the 2013-2014 season.

For those that purchased tickets to the show scheduled for July 27, refunds are available by calling the ISU Ticket Office at 282-4093. The deadline for getting ticket refunds is Aug.10.
