The Idaho State University Office of Marketing and Communications distributes this event calendar to let the public and media know about upcoming non-athletic events at the University. This information is intended for release in print and broadcast events calendars. Various events calendars with more complete information are available online at the website www.isu.edu/calendar. Friday, February 24

19th Annual ISU PPSA spaghetti feed, raffle, auction, Make-A-Wish fundraiser: The 19th annual Idaho State University Professional Pharmacy Student Alliance (PPSA) Spaghetti Feed, Raffle and Auction will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. The event is meant for the whole family with activities for children and many raffle items including a stereo surround system, a Tissot Watch and an Apple iPad. Tickets for the dinner are $5 per person or $20 per family. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the College of Pharmacy at 282-4597.

• ISU Women’s Choir and Chamber Choir Concert: The Idaho State Women's Choir and Chamber choir will perform Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jensen Grand Concert Hall inside the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for pre-college students, $6 for ISU faculty and staff and free for ISU students with valid Bengal cards. • ISU Oboler Library exhibits wildlife art: Local Southeast Idaho artist Lori Scoffield-Beer is displaying her paintings of nature through April 2 at in the Idaho State University Eli Oboler Library art gallery. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Utah State University and is also trained in illustration. Besides painting and drawing in the outdoors, her real love is being creative in her studio, where she can also study the intricacies of the objects she paints. Scoffield-Beer's artwork can be viewed during regular library hours 7:30 a.m. to midnight Monday –Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and noon to midnight Sunday.

• ISU Season of Note to present: 'In the Mood': Idaho State University Season of Note will present "In the Mood" Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jensen Grand Concert Hall inside the Stephens Performing Arts Center. "In the Mood" is America's premiere Big Band Revue, celebrating America's Greatest Generation and the 1940s through song, swing dance and music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra and more. Wednesday, February 29–Friday, March 2

• 41st annual ISU Frank Church Symposium: Idaho State University's International Affairs Council is proud to present the 41st Annual Frank Church Symposium, featuring the theme of "Democracy in a Changing World," Feb. 29-March 2. The symposium's panels will cover a range of topics, including women and gender, technology, media and trends, the future of democracy, economics and countries in transition. Admission is free to the public and the events run 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Feb. 29, 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. March 1, and from 9 a.m. until noon on March 2. • ISU Student Success Center to host 'March Toward Student Success: Peer into Your Future': The Idaho State University Student Success Center will offer a series of presentations during the month of March to promote peer involvement on campus March 1-22. "March Toward Student Success: Peer Into Your Future" will provide information on how to get involved in peer advising, peer tutoring, peer First Year Seminar instruction and peer mentoring. These interactive presentations will include panels of students currently serving as peers and information on how to apply for academic peer leadership opportunities. • Idaho State Civic Symphony: The Idaho State Civic Symphony will present the "Pops Concert" featuring guest artist Wicked Divas Friday, March 2 at 7: 30 p.m. at the Jensen Grand Concert Hall inside the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $32 for adults, $16 for pre-college students, and $7 for ISU students with valid Bengal cards. ISU Department of Theatre and Dance to present Cid Pearlman dance presentation: Idaho State University's Department of Theatre and Dance will present "Broken String" Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rogers Black Box Theater of the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center. Through guided movement improvisation, writing, imagery and conversation, workshop participants learned to communicate stories through movement while creating a collaborative work for public performance. • Faculty Recital: The Idaho State University Faculty recital featuring Geoffrey Friedley, tenor and Diana Livingston Friedley, soprano will be held March 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jensen Grand Concert Hall inside the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tuesday, March 6

• ISU Pond Student Union to hold food court grand opening: The Idaho State University Pond Student Union is proud to announce the grand opening of its newly renovated food court featuring Grillnation, Mandalay Express and Einstein Bros. Bagels on Tuesday, March 6. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 10:3 0 a.m. with ISU President Arthur C. Vailas and guests from the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce. At 11 a.m. festivities will include live performance by the band Blind Autumn, free caricatures by local artist Bob Beason, and a Chartwells money grab game for a chance to win money good at any Chartwells food service location on campus. From 2 to 5 p.m. the Student Union will offer one game of free bowling in the Games Center and free tie-dye in the Craft Shop. • ISU Anderson Gender Resource Center to host its ninth annual Art of Gender in Everyday Life conference: Idaho State University's Anderson Gender Resource Center will host its ninth annual Art of Gender in Everyday Life conference March 7-9 in the Pond Student Union Building's Salmon River Suite. The conference is being held in honor of Women's History Month. Wednesday, March 7, the conference will begin at 7 p.m. with a poetry reading by Utah poet V. Wetlaufer. The conference will include creative writing workshops, various presentations and a brown bag lunch, among other events. In addition, the ISU Transition art gallery will display "Mama Said: The Art and Artifacts of Wise Women." A keynote speech on the history of marriage by Stephanie Coontz will conclude the conference March 9, at 7 p.m. The public events are free. • ISU Anderson Gender Resource Center to present LUNAFEST 2012: The Idaho State University Anderson Gender Resource Center is will screen LUNAFEST 2012, a festival of 10 short films by, for and about women, on March 8 in Pocatello and March 20 in Idaho Falls.The Pocatello screening will be held at 7 p.m. in the Rendezvous Complex Suites A, B and C. For additional information on the Pocatello screening, call 282-2805. The Idaho Falls screening will be held at noon in the Multipurpose Room of the Bennion Student Union at University Place.
