The Idaho State University Office of Marketing and Communications distributes this event calendar to let the public and media know about upcoming non-athletic events at the University. Thursday and Friday, September 8-9

• 29th Annual "I love ISU" campaign Treasure Valley Calling: The 29th annual "I Love ISU" campaign for Idaho State University academic scholarships is featuring events across southern Idaho.  On these dates callers will be calling Treasure Valley for donations. Suicide Prevention Training: Idaho State University's Institute of Rural Health is accepting pre-registration for free suicide prevention training in Pocatello from 9-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. This training will be held in the Wood River Room of the ISU Pond Student Union. This training is free and open to the community, but seating is limited.  Pre-registration is required.  To register online, go to http://isu.edu/irh/.

Gabriel Iglesias Tickets on sale: ISU Student Activities Board will present Gabriel Iglesias at the Stephens Performing Arts Center on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale Sept. 12-19 for $17 per ISU student ticket; Sept. 20-Oct. 6 for $22 per ISU student ticket; and Oct. 7 for $27 per ISU student ticket. Faculty, staff and public tickets will be on sale Sept. 20-Oct. 6 for $27 per ticket and Oct. 7 for $37. Tickets can be purchased at the Stephens Center Box Office from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., over the phone at (208) 282-3595 or online at www.isu.edu/tickets/. They can also be purchased at Vickers Western Stores in Pocatello or Idaho Falls or at the PSUB Campus Connection.

• New Horizons Music Program for seniors: Seniors, ages 50 to 85, who wish to join the innovative New Horizons Music program in Pocatello are invited to attend an organizational and informational meeting at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Idaho State University Continuing Education Building at 1001 North 7th Avenue. New Horizons Music is an innovative program that teaches beginning musicians older than 50.  For more information call John Meiners at 852-6789.

• McLove Night: Support for "I Love ISU" will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pocatello McDonald's at 1011 S. Fifth Ave. and 831 Yellowstone Ave. A portion of all sales will go directly to scholarships for ISU students. Saturday September 17

• 30th Anniversary Pocatello Pump: Idaho State University Pocatello Pump will run from 7 a.m. to early afternoon on Sept. 17 at the basalt cliffs in Pocatello's Ross Park. The cost for pre-registrants before Friday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. is $30. Those registering on-site pay $35. All proceeds support the Access Fund, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to educating climbers on environmental and climbing issues and the ISU Terry Kranning Climber's Scholarship. All participants who register before Sept. 9 will receive a custom Pocatello Pump T-shirt. To preregister, contact the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center, 282-3912, ISU Campus Box 8128, drop by the office in the Pond Student Union Building, or register online at www.isu.edu/outdoor/pump.shtml.

Run for the Health of it 5k Fun Run/Walk: The College of Pharmacy is putting on a 5k fun run/walk to benefit our student community programs as well as the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho on the ISU-Meridian campus from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Registration fees are $28 until 8/31/11 and late registration is $34 from 9/1/11 through 9/16/11 at 3 p.m. In-person registration is also available at packet pickup on 9/16/11, or the morning of the race. Season of Note: Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand will perform on Saturday in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. The group is known for its ability to stretch out musically in all directions, pinging back and forth with a joyful spontaneity most bands could barely imagine, let alone achieve.
