Idaho State University student Stuart Summers was recently announced as the state winner for the Don Watkins Memorial Scholarship.

The $1,500 Don Watkins Scholarship is awarded each year to graduates of Idaho high schools who have completed at least one year of college and wish to pursue a career in journalism or communications. The scholarship is awarded through the Idaho Press Club. An essay and samples of journalist work must be included with application packet.

Stuart is currently working part-time for local NBC affiliate KPVI NewsChannel6 in Pocatello. He hopes someday to be a news anchor and reporter in a major TV market. Stuart has been working toward this goal from a young age and is now beginning to realize his dream.
