Eclectic pianist Jon Schmidt to perform concert, hold workshop April 29

The Idaho State University Volleyball Team will sponsor a concert by pianist Jon Schmidt on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. The concert will be held at the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall located in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.

A piano workshop by Schmidt will be held at 5:30 p.m. It is open to anyone interested who has purchased a concert ticket.

Audiences worldwide are taking notice of Schmidt. His fan base defies demographics, as his music touches people of all ages and cultures. Often labeled “New Age,” Schmidt has created a hybrid of music that is equal parts classical, contemporary and rock ‘n’ roll.

Tickets are $8 for children and students, including ISU students, $10 for ISU faculty, staff and alumni, and $12 for adults

Tickets can be purchased at the Stephens Performing Arts Center Box Office or by calling the Box Office at (28) 282-3595. Box Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets also are available at www.isu.edu/tickets or at the Vickers Western Stores in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. This event will be general admission seating. No one under age 6 will be admitted.
