ISU Marketing and Communications

The Idaho State University Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group (CW HOG) will hold an open house for its Alpine Tower Challenge Course and giant swing from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

The course is located at the corner of Alvin Ricken Drive and Barton Road in Pocatello, across the street from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game’s Southeast Region Office.

The cost of participating is $5. Participants must sign a waiver, or, if under 18, their parents must be present.

The Alpine Tower Challenge Course was built in 2004 and is designed for student clubs, businesses, scout troops, churches, public school groups, and other groups to engage in team building and challenge activities. The 50-foot tower has 25 high elements and 20 low initiatives that challenge groups of people to develop skills such as teamwork, decision-making, communication and problem solving. The wooden tower with ropes, netting and objects hanging from it presents some of the same challenges as rock climbing and high ropes course elements. Groups from six to 36 people can use the course at one time.
