ISU Bengal Dancers to host master class with Fred Odgaard on Aug. 20

The Idaho State University Bengal Dancers will host a master class with Fred Odgaard on Thursday Aug. 20, in the Red Hill Building Dance Studio on the ISU Pocatello campus.

Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. The class will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  The cost is $15 or $10 with Bengal card.  It will be an advanced-level dance class for college, high school and advanced-level seventh and eighth graders. 

Fred Odgaard

Odgaard has choreographed jazz and lyrical routines for the Bengal Dancers for the past two seasons. With his choreography the Bengal Dancers won a United Spirit Association national championship in 2008, finished third at the Universal Dance Association Collegiate Championship in 2008 and second in UDA championship in 2009.

Odgaard is currently rehearsing for a new Cirque du Soleil show that will open in Las Vegas in January 2010. He performed nightly in the Celine Dion Show "A New Day" in Las Vegas. He has been a featured dancer in Tokyo Disney, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and in music videos such as Raven Simone's “Very Superstitious” and “Grazin in the Grass.” He has done film and television work on ESPN, “That's So Raven” and “Star Search.” Odgaard has danced internationally with American Dance Company in such places as Paris, France and Guatemala.
