Hoffmann named to American College of Sports Medicine board

Sandra Hoffmann, M.D., director of internal medicine at Idaho State University’s Department of Family Medicine, has been named to the Board of Trustees of the American College of Sports Medicine.

“I’m very honored and excited to be on the Board of Trustees of the American College of Sports Medicine, the national organization that focuses on research and health promotion of exercise and sports medicine,” Hoffmann said.

Currently, the American College of Sports Medicine has 20,000 members. Each year, two physicians are elected to the Board of Trustees of the ACSM.

Board certified in internal medicine with an added certificate of qualification in sports medicine, Hoffmann has practiced medicine for 20 years and has been at ISU for five years. She belongs to the Society of Hospital Medicine and is one of ISU’s team physicians. She attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine; University of California, Los Angeles, Department of Kinesiology, and served as an intern in the internal medicine program at Michigan State University- Kalamazoo, Center for Medical Studies.
