Samarabalouf, a jazz trio from France, will give the first performance in the Idaho State University “Season of Note” series, Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center on the Idaho State University campus.

The concert will be in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jenson Grand Concert Hall.

Since 2001, Samarabalouf, led by Francois Petit, has toured across France. The trio made its debut in the United States in 2003, and toured the U.S. again in 2005. This talented group of musicians has performed to sell-out crowds in France, the U.S. and Canada and has experienced record breaking CD sells for the last four years.

The trio’s music has been described as gypsy-jazz influenced by French jazz legend, Django Reinhardt. Samarabalouf is known for original, energetic and humorous performances. The group has been featured in several publications including “Guitarist Magazine,” “Length Waves” and “Guitar and Bass.”

Tickets for Samarabalouf are $24 for main level and $20 for upper level and can be purchased at the Stephens Performing Arts Center Box Office or online at www.isu.edu/tickets.
