Idaho State University professor Ron Hatzenbuehler, Ph.D., will be featured on C-SPAN 2’s television program “TV Bus” at 8:49 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

He will be discussing the book he authored “I Tremble for My Country: Thomas Jefferson and the Virginia Gentry.” This six-minute segment was filmed last August when the C-SPAN 2’s Book TV Bus visited the Idaho State University campus.

“They interviewed me so long ago I almost forgot about it,” Hatzenbuehler said. “It will be interesting to see what they broadcast.”

“I Tremble for My Country’: Thomas Jefferson and the Virginia Gentry” was published by the University Press of Florida in November 2006. In the book, Hatzenbuehler argues that Jefferson, though celebrated as a nationalist, is best understood as a member of the Virginia gentry, who viewed the nation through the lens of his native “country,” the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The illustrated book, ISBN: 0-8130-3007-2, is 224 pages and costs $55. It is available through the University Press of Florida at www.upf.com, www.Amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com and from the ISU Book Store, call 282-3237.

The Book TV Bus, hosted by Cable One in Pocatello, has traveled through 39 states and more than 200 cities, hosting more than 75,000 visitors and has produced more 400 book-related events. Book TV is aired for 48 hours every weekend starting at 8 a.m. EST on Saturdays. The program airs non-fiction book programming on a variety of topics including history, biographies, politics, current events and the media
