The Idaho State University Bengal Dancers recently returned from the Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Camp held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where they won three awards.

There were 37 other college dance teams in attendance along with Idaho State University.  The four-day camp included a home-routine evaluation and competition, UDA fight song evaluation and competition, technique classes, two master classes with a UDA master instructor, and individual evaluations on routines that were taught at the camp.

The Bengal Dancers won several awards including: third place home routine, third place UDA fight song and the coveted Most Collegiate Award.  The Most Collegiate Award is voted on and given by the UDA staff to the squad that best exemplifies what a college dance team should be.

The Bengal Dancers are coached by Hilary Hofmaier and assisted by Lindsay Tucker. The two-time National Championship squad is already in preparation for the 2009 competitive season.  Look for the upcoming annual Bengal Dancers Calendar available from Hofmaier.  Anyone interested in sponsorships for the calendar may contact Hofmaier at 282-4547.
