Three members of the Idaho State University Rodeo Team, ranked 21st in the nation, will compete at the College National Finals Rodeo June 10-16 in Casper, Wyo.

Aaron Skinner, a junior from Bear Lake, will compete in steer wrestling and is ranked third in the nation in this event. Sophomore Morgan Wilde from Inkom will compete in the bareback riding competition, an event in which he is ranked 11th nationally. Clint Arave, a junior from Blackfoot, will be competing in both the team roping and calf roping competitions. Arave will enter the team roping competition as a heeler with another Idaho contestant from Weber State University, Courtney Dobson from Mud Lake, as the header.

These ISU rodeo team members earned their trip to nationals by finishing in the top three for the year in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Within the RMIRA, Skinner won the steer wrestling, Wilde was second in bareback riding and Arave was third in team roping and calf roping.

“We’ve had a very successful season, and were proud of these students representing ISU,” said Brian Hetrick, ISU Rodeo Team coach and advisor. “They all have a good shot of placing high in their competitions.”
